Churchs
Taormina there are several churches.
The fortress cathedral, "Il Duomo", built around 1400 onto the ruins of a little medieval church dedicated to St. Nicola from Bari, is considered the Taormina's main cathedral. Visitors can enjoy memorable masses on sunday mornings attended by local people.
San Pancrazio, the church consecrated to the Patron of Taormina, bishop and martyr, was built on the ruins of a Greek temple dedicated to Jupiter Serapis.
St. George's Anglican Church was built in the early 1920s by the small British community who used to spend most of the year in Taormina.
Designed by Sir Harry Triggs, an English architect and the son-in-law of Sir Edward Hill, it is still a gathering point of English speaking people cin town with a remarkable public library .
